This is my vision of the poem...the water represents the darkness overtaking her.

Yours

I hear your voice from unseen distant shores-
a consolation as the night draws nigh:
As darkness overtakes me, I am yours.

You leave no opportunity to mourn
the loss of light, for even as I cry
I hear your voice from unseen distant shores-
a soft melodic sound I can’t abhor.
You soothe me, as a gentle lullaby.
As darkness overtakes me I am yours.

And as the stars above begin to pour
their silver dust of night into my eyes,
I hear your voice from unseen distant shores-
an echo tempting me, a phantom lure.
You give my heart the wings it needs to fly
As darkness overtakes me: I am yours.

Upon these wings my pain and fears are borne
to leave me naught but peace. I can’t deny
